New Licence Plus Document Delivery tool offers simple on-demand access to copyright cleared journal articles
CLA and Reprints Desk have partnered to develop the Licence Plus Document Delivery tool which is available to all NHS bodies.
The NHS wanted a streamlined way of accessing content already ordered under Licence Plus so that they could make the most of the service. CLA worked with Reprints Desk, who because of their experience offering this functionality to other customers were the ideal partner to develop the new CLA tool.
The new tool gives the NHS a quicker and easier way to order journal articles from Reprints Desk and the British Library.
Features include providing instant information on the availability of each article, and each NHS body has its own unit counter showing how many articles they have left.
Helen Bingham, NHS Library and Knowledge Services Lead, commented:
There are 180 NHS trust-based library and knowledge services in England. National NHS organisations like NICE, Public Health England and Health Education England also have teams of library and knowledge specialists. They all need to quickly source articles for clinicians, researchers and managers, without worrying whether they have previously been requested elsewhere in the NHS, or are Open Access, and therefore may already be shared at no extra cost. This new tool streamlines library workflows and helps us obtain best value for the NHS from the annual allocation of articles available to us under our Copyright Licence.
