We’ve enhanced our key licences for the corporate and public sectors to include permissions for customers to post magazine and online articles on their own websites.
Website republishing permissions, available to new customers from April 2017, allow the reuse of up to five articles per year from over 3,000 titles including Grazia, New Scientist, Drapers, Estates Gazette, Heat and Accountancy.
This new permission gives licensed organisations the ability to share valuable content with their customers through their websites. For example, businesses and public sector organisations will be able to share press coverage of their organisation, to publicise their successes and promote their services or products.
Our licences remove the need for organisations to spend time clearing rights directly with publishers, simplifying copyright and saving staff significant administrative time and effort.
James Bennett, Head of Rights and Licensing at CLA, said:
“We recognised that websites have become a key component in how organisations communicate with their customers, and we wanted to acknowledge their importance by enhancing our current licence offering.
“By making copyright simple for our licensees with website republishing permissions, they are better able to access the quality content they need to fulfil their business objectives.”
Customers can take advantage of new functionality in our Check Permissions tool to clarify whether a magazine they wish to copy from is covered for website republishing. They’ll be able to report usage to us through their user dashboards found on our website, where customers will be able to see information unique to their licence.
We are committed to delivering solutions that best meet our customers’ needs and continue to work towards simplifying copyright for all our customers to enable greater access to valuable content.
Other enhancements to CLA’s Business, Public Administration and Multinational Business licences include improved and simplified storage permissions, and will be rolled out to new and existing customers over the coming months.
