We are proud to again be supporting the George Pitcher Memorial Award.
This award pays tribute to George Pitcher, who established the HERON and PackTracker services for the Higher Education (HE) community, and who sadly passed away at the age of 61 in December 2014. George was passionate about both of these services, writing much of the code himself and managing the entire relationship between Ingenta (formerly Publishing Technology) and the HE customers. Ingenta launched the George Pitcher Memorial Award in recognition of his fantastic work promoting the use of technology for facilitating copyright clearance for HEIs.
The Award is open to all employees (part-time or full-time) of HEI libraries. Entrants must submit 400–500 words on an innovative way that technology can be used to guide and facilitate support of staff and students engaged in learning and/or support services. This innovation can be one already implemented at your institution, or an idea in the making! All entries must be submitted no later than November 17th 2017.
The winner of the Award will be sponsored to attend the 6th CILIP ARLG-SW DARTS Conference at Dartington Hall, Totnes, on Thursday 24th – Friday 25th May 2018. The theme for the conference is Back to Basics.
