Repertoire – what material can be photocopied? (go back)

The licence permits photocopying of extracts from most books, journals, periodicals, conference proceedings
and law reports published:

  • in the United Kingdom

    and also in;
  • Argentina, Australia, Austria, Barbados, Belgium, Canada (including Quebec), Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan (R.O.C.), Trinidad and Tobago and the United States of America (as also published on the CLA website at International Territories and amended to from time to time; any amendments will be drawn to HEIs’ attention on a monthly basis)

with the exception of:

  • those UK publications listed on the List of Excluded Categories and Works (as published on the CLA website as amended from time to time; any amendments will be drawn to HEIs’ attention on a monthly basis)

  • certain publications published overseas, and publications published by certain overseas publishers, which can be viewed by clicking on the relevant country on the International page of our website

Who can make and receive photocopies? (go back)

Photocopies can be made by contracted members of staff.

They may then be supplied to:

  • registered students
  • course tutors
  • visiting academics
  • officers contracted by regulatory agencies such as the Quality Assurance Agency and the Research Excellence Framework
