The Copyright Licensing Agency Limited (CLA) licenses organisations to copy and re-use extracts from print and digital publications on behalf of authors, publishers and visual creators. We are at the forefront of the rapidly developing fields of intellectual property and electronic rights management.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Product Development Director to join the CLA. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the successful candidate will play a leading role in the research and development of new strategic business opportunities in the digital environment which satisfy customer needs and add significant value to the services provided by the CLA to rights holders and users.
The Role:
- To lead in the area of end to end market-led license and digital product development from initial research, through development and to launch, ensuring buy in and support from rights holders, external opinion formers and stakeholder groups.
- To take ownership of the development process driving and project managing internal teams to ensure the effective delivery of new commercial products on time and to budget.
- To understand and identify opportunities for CLA in the UK and International copyright and licensing market ensuring the organisation continues to be positioned as a leader and authority in the space.
The Person:
- Strategic and commercial with a strong background in digital, web based or ecommerce product development likely to have been gained in a media, publishing or similar market driven services environment.
- Highly analytical with a strong project management skill set with the ability to develop and lead market led business plans cross functionally.
- A team player and problem solver with strong communication and interpersonal skills and the gravitas and credibility to represent at the highest levels in the market place.
