Schools licences
CLA licenses both state and independent schools.
State schools
We license all schools in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland via blanket arrangements with Local Authorities (LAs). For more details of state school licences see below.
Schools licence England and Wales
Schools licence Scotland - basic scanning licence (to follow)

Note: State schools in England and Wales should contact their LA for supplies of support materials or download and print the above. State schools in Northern Ireland should contact their Education and Library Board or download and print the above.
Independent schools - England, Wales and Northern Ireland
Licences issued by our agent the Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS) cover most independent schools. The current licensing scheme is an annual licence that runs from April to March each year. The licence is negotiated centrally with IAPS on behalf of all independent schools. Schools do not have be a member of IAPS to buy a licence under the scheme.
Discounts are offered by CLA to IAPS (and passed onto schools) in recognition of its administrative, coordinating and negotiating role.
Independent schools - Scotland
Most independent schools in Scotland are covered by a blanket licence issued to the Scottish Council of Independent Schools (SCIS). The current licensing scheme is an annual licence that runs from April to March each year. The licence is negotiated centrally with SCIS on behalf of its members. Schools do not have be a member of SCIS to buy a licence under the scheme.
Discounts are offered by CLA to SCIS (and passed onto schools) in recognition of its administrative, coordinating and negotiating role.
